Bright spices and colourful goods in the old spice souks in Deira.
The old city around Deira and Bur Dubai on either side of the Dubai Creek are by far the most atmospheric and interesting parts of Dubai, warrens of narrow streets and old shops. Some areas are dolled up for tourists, others are clearly local areas. Being there early morning before the crowds grew was the best.
